About “The Dew Flower”

“Jorinda and Joringel” is the Grimms’ fairy tale on which this retelling is based. I borrowed the title from a Kentucky variation, “The Flower of Dew.”  A forest-dwelling witch captures young girls, changes them into songbirds and cages them in her tower. When Jorinda meets this fate, her gentle sweetheart, Joringel, must find a way to rescue  her and her companions. The drawings were done in pencil.
